The history of the PlayStation therefore began 27 years ago, and since then the brand has made a name for itself in the gaming world by making Sony proud today with its PS5.
The PlayStation first of the name – Pléstassion or PlayStécheun – therefore celebrates its 27th anniversary. Launched on December 3, 1994 in Japan before expanding to the United States and then to Europe. It has passed over 100 million copies worldwide. A success that has greatly contributed to the birth of a new gaming empire which has continued to expand over the generations with:
- The PlayStation 2 in March 2000.
- The PlayStation 3 in November 2006.
- The PlayStation 4 in November 2013.
- The Playstation 5 in November 2020.
Who would have thought that this little white-stained console would leave such an imprint behind it. Because god knows it was not won with behemoths such as Nintendo or Sega with the Saturn and the Dreamcast which will be released a little later .
To celebrate the occasion with dignity, we invite you to share your best memories, your anecdotes and the games that marked you the most. Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, Panzer Dragoon, Metal Gear Solid, Fighting Force, Tekken … The list is long. Arf … it’s getting a little old all that.
