Who doesn’t remember the legendary intro of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty on the Manhattan Bridge? A developer is working on a remake with Unreal Engine 5 sauce.

Here is a work that will warm the hearts of many fans of this cult license that is Metal Gear Solid. Erasmus Brosdau, developer at Zenobia Games has just shared on his twitter account a short teaser featuring Solid Snake in MGS 2 intro scene when he makes a reception on the supertanker.

And interestingly, it runs in real time under Unreal Engine 5. An up-to-date update that commands admiration, with necessarily meteorological conditions and effects much more elaborate than in the past. Let us remember, however, that the second opus is more than 20 years old, since it dates from November 2001… It does not make us any younger.

Let’s hope that this work is not just a simple test – the mention “Work in Progress” commits to a certain optimism -. In any case we would be delighted to discover the whole of the original introduction with the same level of quality. To make you wait here is the extract, good viewing.
