You may have understood it by looking at the so-2000 spelling of the title (The Netrunner Awaken1ng), but this game puts you in the shoes of a computer hacker. “In the Matrix”, even explains the French independent studio Cube Overflowwhich announces the release of its new game on Steam on May 24th.
Categorized under the term “hack & dash”, The Netrunner Awaken1ng is a 3D parkour game where you have to jump, float and do forward thrusts on platforms in a map of 50 procedural levels with black decorations with fluorescent green katekana scrolling. You have to rush into this cyberpunk universe looking for data and hacking software to escape.
A demo is already launched on Steam and a video allows you to discover more. A game that necessarily promotes speedrun, therefore die & retry, therefore rage. Especially since music adapts to stress and electro-techno is more and more rhythmic.
