It’s been a long time since we’ve had any news about the next installment of the horrific Outlast license. However, next Tuesday, things will change.
That’s because a tweet from famed presenter Geoff Keighley revealed that studio Red Barrels has a little surprise for us: a new preview of their upcoming horror game, The Outlast Trials.
The more the merrier
This unreleased trailer will be presented at the opening night of Gamescom 2022. If the image on the tweet is anything to go by, it may be that one of the antagonists of the game is at the heart of this new trailer. And, as is often the case in the Outlast series, we’re probably dealing with an abominable enemy with the worst punishment in store (who said Leatherface?).
It is also possible that the multiplayer aspect of the experience will be brought to the forefront. For good reason, this is one of the novel elements of the license. The software is designed to be done in cooperation. Thus, we might know a little bit more about how the mutual help between the two players will work.
But probably the most eagerly awaited piece of information is the release date which, at the moment, is still unknown. Some continue to hope for an arrival in 2022, others already see themselves waiting for 2023. These questions will surely be answered next Tuesday.
