The war in Ukraine continues to rage and charity work does not decline. Today, it’s The Pokémon Company’s turn to provide financial assistance.
As you already know, the video game world is mobilizing in this war led by Lord Putin. This results in financial aid – as Wargaming.net, Embracer, Techland or CD Project have done – or in censorship, like EA, which has removed any Russian team from its FIFA 22. The Ukrainian government even urged other companies, especially sony and Microsoftto apply sanctions against the Russian scene.
And, while waiting for concrete actions from the companies solicited, The Pokémon Company has decided to join the movement by allocating funds to a humanitarian organization: GlobalGiving. The latter is responsible for ensuring that the relevant organizations receive the donation of $200,000 intended to help the “families and children”.
The growing crisis in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, which continues to displace families and threaten the safety of children, is heartbreaking.
The Pokémon Company International is immediately donating US$200,000 to its GlobalGiving partners for humanitarian relief.
The nonprofit will effectively direct funds to community-led organizations supporting families and children affected by the crisis.
