The return of the chainsaw cheerleader will be without its creators, director Goichi Suda (No More Heroes, Killer is Dead) and screenwriter James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy).
Officialized a few days ago, the remake of Lollipop Chainsaw will not have its original team on board. The famous director Suda51 (No More Heroes) will not be present on this new project. He confirmed it on Twitter, while specifying that the former scriptwriter of the game James Gunnwho has become a star of the MCU with the Guardians of the Galaxy, would not reapply either.
To add my two cents, like @JamesGunn says, neither he nor I am involved in this project at all, and Grasshopper Manufacture has nothing to do with development or anything. https://t.co/ctLfTvk1yn

Released in 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360, Lollipop Chainsaw conquered its audience thanks to a offbeat concept of a schoolgirl in skirts with a chainsaw against zombies. These two absences are surprising to say the least for this remake. But we must admit that the former scriptwriter, unknown at the time, has a lot to do with the Guardians 3 and the Peacemaker series.
A release for 2023 is envisaged on recent consoles, with a “more realistic” game, which seemed to rule out the Goichi Suda’s parodic and cartoonish touch. Too bad…
