It may well be that an illustrious character is making a comeback in Mass Effect 5 if we are to believe a small dumpling in the BioWare store.
This discovery, we owe it to Youtuber MrHulthen who, in the description of the official lithograph of Mass Effect 5 available in the BioWare storehas reported a clue about Commander Sherpard.
Will Mass Effect 5 be his next favorite game in the whole citadel?
As MrHulthen shows in his video, the description of the object gave the following sentence (translated here in French):
Shepard’s final quest may have ended the Reaper attack, but at a high cost, including to Earth itself. As Shepard and the survivors have to pick up the pieces, fans wonder what’s next.
The product description has since been changed to something more conventional and doesn’t even mention Shepard anymore, but the damage has been done and theories are therefore allowed.
It could therefore well be that the legendary Shepard is not dead and is returning for Mass Effect 5, contrary to what the end of Mass Effect 3 might suggest. At the same time, it wouldn’t be such a big surprise as ME3, regardless of its outcome, still leaves a lot of questions unanswered. As a bonus, BioWare has already tried to put the license back in the saddle without directly following the first trilogy with Mass Effect Andromeda, and failed. So seeing the figurehead of the license come back to the fore would not be so inconceivable. Besides, it’s not like Shepard used to come back from the dead…
But to get to the bottom of it, we’ll have to wait. Mass Effect 5 is still in development and has not given much news since its announcement. Hoping that the software, like Dragon Age 4, shows up during the year.
