The former wrestler, who has already collaborated on many occasions with the world of video games, is preparing a new adaptation which will be announced this year.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, one of the most bankable actors of the moment, is preparing for several leading roles in the years to come. After running through the jungle in Jumanji, Jungle Cruise and Red Notice over the past three years, he will soon embody Black Adam, a hero who will officially join the DC Universe and the king Kamehameha in The Kinga film by Robert Zemeckis about the first king of Hawaii (who inspired the eponymous technique in Dragon Ball).
But in an interview for Men’s Journalthe former wrestler, who collaborated with Fortnite for the launch of the last season announces that he is also preparing an adaptation of video games for the cinema.
I can’t tell you what specific game we’re making, but there will be an announcement this year. We’re going to bring one of the biggest and baddest games to the screen, a game I’ve played for years. I can’t wait to show it to fans around the world. Sure, we’re going to do the right thing for our fellow gamers, but really, we’re just going to make a great movie.
Big fan of the Xbox, The Rock could here refer to a license of the brand. For the record, he had already played Sarge in the film Doom in 2005, was the star of the adaptation of rampage in 2018, and obviously, on the gaming side, was doubling his own person in the entire WWF/WWE series since 1998.
