The Nintendo Switch would have reached the 3rd place of the best sales of historical home consoles this weekend, overtaking the PlayStation a few weeks after the Wii.
Almost two weeks ago, according to statistics compiled by the site VGChartz, sales of Nintendo’s hybrid console have exceeded the historical figures of its little sister the Wii. By passing the 101.6 million unit mark, the Switch thus became Big N’s first home console.
Indeed, although ahead of the Wii, the Switch is still far from the DS or the Game Boy, two huge historical successes of Nintendo, but portable consoles. This weekend, the console would have set a new record by now arriving in the top 5 of console sales, also surpassing… the PlayStation!
With 102.7 million copies, the latest from Nintendo would thus be just ahead of the 102.5 million of the PSX.
