The first game published, and not developed, by Dontnod (Life is Strange) now has a release date on Switch and PC.
Gerda: A Flame in Winter will send its players into full World War II inside a Danish village. Here, the story will not focus on the figure of the soldier and their heroic exploits. No, it will rather explore the lives of civilians in troubled times and how events affect them.
A story inspired by real events
The title developed by PortaPlay will offer a narrative experience to which will also be added some elements worthy of RPG. Gerda will be the heroine. And, through it, by immersing themselves in its skin, the players will reach a certain status, that of the witness.
Inspired by true stories, the adventure will indeed try to convey, it seems, a precise look at the effects caused by the war, and not only that of then, on the civilian population. The message of the title should, according to the words of its director Hans von Knut Skovfogedhave a universal scope aiming to show, in a realistic way, individuals in struggle, in the grip of difficult choices… In short, all the hardships generated by armed conflicts in the rear.
If such a company seduces you, you will have the opportunity to approach Gerda: A Flame in Winter on PC and Nintendo Switch from this September 1, 2022.
