Sorry for those who were planning to (re)start The Witcher 3 with its new gen patch: CD Projekt has once again postponed its release.
Decidedly at CD Projekt, the schedule is difficult to keep. After the multitude of postponements that Cyberpunk 2077 and its new gen patch suffered, here it is the PS5 version and Xbox Series of The Witcher 3 which is struggling to find its niche.
The Witcher 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series not for several months
We were expecting it for the second quarter of 2022, but in the end we will have to wait a little longer. The project has just changed hands internally and there is still a lot of work to do for this new version to see the light of day. This is the reason why the studio preferred to postpone its game to an indefinite date without giving more details.
We have decided to hand over the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to our in-house development team. We are currently assessing the extent of the work that remains to be done and therefore have to postpone the release originally scheduled for Q2 until further notice. We will let you know as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding.

We will only hope that the postponement will allow CD Projekt to serve us a new gen version with small onions, just to make us wait until the arrival of the new saga The Witcher currently in production under Unreal Engine 5.
