In a statement, 11 bit Studios announced fundraising through its This War of Mine game for a week. Profits will be donated to victims of the war in Ukraine.

The excellent management and survival game This War of Mine, which chronicled the troubles of a refugee family during the siege of Sarajevo in 1992will serve the good cause, announced this evening 11 bit Studios, the Polish developer of the game.

As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine took another turn with the Russian invasion at the gates of the European Union, several voices in the video game world were raised. The developer recalled the messages conveyed in its anti-war game released in 2014 on PC then in 2016 on PS4 and Xbox One. In a press release soberly titled “FUCK THE WAR”, the Poles announced that they would provide all possible support “to the victims of the war in Ukraine”.

And “to associate the gesture with the word”, for the next 7 days, all proceeds generated from the sale of This War of Mine and its DLCs will go directly to a special fund which will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross who treats and helps the victims of war.

May this message resonate with all you know about this war and how it is killing people, devastating their lives and their homes. Let’s do everything we can – players and developers together – to support the victims of the war in Ukraine.
