Studio belonging to Activision and therefore to Microsoft soon, Toys For Bob seems not to want to stay limited to the Warzone support, and already plans a new game.
Last June, insiders claimed to have heard about of a new game at the Toys for Bob offices. According to Jez Corden, a multiplayer battle game in the Crash Bandicoot universe, Wumpa Leaguewas to be announced during the summer shows. If the information has not been confirmed (nor denied), the studio belonging to Activision has apparently just teased a new production to add to its “hunting table”.
Originally known for the excellent Pandemonium with Crystal Dynamics, Toys for Bob was acquired by Activision in 2005 to handle the Tony Hawk license with Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jamand then finally to launch his own Skylanders license. The studio also relaunched Spyro and Crash Bandicoot back in 2018.
What will Microsoft do with Toys For Bob?
Only thing is, at Activision, absolutely all the studios have been repatriated on the only successful license, Call of Duty, in 2021. TfB was therefore a new Warzone support studio. After some protests from former team members, Activision announced that this did not prevent the team from working on its other licenses.
Since then, Activision-Blizzard has been bought by Microsoft, which undoubtedly has different wishes and ambitions with this historic studio. So, Wumpa League or a new Spyro 4? We should know more soon…
