No one really expects it anymore, but Midnight Club 5 could be in the works, according to rumors. In any case, the Take-Two studio is on a multi game planned on several platforms.
For the past two weeks, Visual Concepts has been posting new job postings for several projects, including the WWE and NBA franchises. But the Californian branch is mainly looking for several artists and developers for an “unannounced open world racing game”.
AAA title is planned “for multiple platforms” and seems to be related to the first info released in 2019. Another job description specifies that the game will be developed on UnrealEngineand it therefore appears that VC South (the Foothill Ranch studio) will be in charge.
This game takes Visual Concepts in a new direction, involves driving in an open world, and will be fun for all ages.
Finally, a last offer brings yet another piece of information that had not been discovered until now: an engineer is wanted to take care of the multiplayer part of the game, which should therefore offer an online experience.
All these elements, combined with the first rumors as early as 2019, suggest that a new Midnight Club would already be well advanced in its development, perhaps the old Midnight Club 5 project. Unless the 2K Games studio is oriented on a new Take-Two franchise…
