The cooperative FPS Warhammer 40K Darktide has unfortunately just suffered its third postponement on PC and Xbox Series.
Originally, the game was supposed to be released in 2021. However, like many of its peers, it had to be pushed back due to the pandemic. The new date was then set for spring 2022 before being pushed back again to September 13. If we could have wished it would have ended there, The studio Fatshark has just announced on Twitter another bad news for Darktide.
An uncertain date for the xbox
PC owners, rest assured, the software has not been delayed to next year, but only to November 30. Nevertheless, the Xbox Series version has not been given the same treatment. Thus, its release window is now undeterminedalthough the developers claim that it will not be – normally – very far from the one on PC.
In its release, the CEO of the studio, Martin Wahlund, was keen to point out that this postponement was necessary to ensure a game of sufficient quality for players:
Postponing a game is perhaps one of the most difficult decisions a developer has to make, and we’re not excited about it. Still, we hope this shows our willingness to take the time necessary, and we are doing everything in our power to bring you the best game possible.
At the same time and to keep the community waiting, he also explained that phases of tests and betas were going to be set up very soon. The registrations are done on the official site.
The future looks promising. As a reminder, Warhammer 40K Darktide will be available for free on Xbox Game Pass on the day of its release.
