Sony confirms having fired its senior vice-president of PlayStation Network when he seemed to be involved in a dark history of pedophilia.
Sony and his brand Playstation find themselves stuck in a bad posture. Indeed, his Vice-President of PlayStation Network since 2013, George Cacioppo, is accused of trying to organize a meeting with a 15-year-old minor.
The interested party would have created a profile on the Grindr dating site in called himself “Jeff”. It was there that he came into contact with a 15-year-old minor who was in fact a lure profile not created People v. Preds – entity which aims to track down alleged perpetrators of pedophile acts -.
The trap closed when George Cacioppo proposed to this young man to meet him at his home. In the video that you will see, you can see the now ex PSN vice-president filmed outside his home and wearing a PS5 T-Shirt. The latter is accused by the cameraman of pedophilia while being called “Jeff”.
For his part, Sony confirms the situation and informs that it has taken the lead by firing the person in question:
We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated
