While Gamescom will have to deal with the absence of big names in the industry, such as Sony or Nintendo, several other studios have made their participation official.
Without Sony and Nintendo, but with Xbox. Gamescom 2022, which has also had confirmation in recent days from Ubisoft or 505 Games, can enter two more names on the guest list. On the one hand Prime Matterthe new label of Koch Media. And the other one, Xbox, which will make its return to the aisles of the German show.
System Shock and a new RPG for Prime Matter
On the Xbox side, the announcement simply teases an appearance on the August 24 to 28 in Cologne. “Fans in Europe and around the world can expect updates on some announced Xbox games over the next 12 months,” says the Microsoft team, which will share more details in early August.
On the Prime Matter side, the lineup is already revealed. This year, the show will be the opportunity to discover the remake of System Shock, officially set for 2022 on PC and consoles. Real remake of the 1994 game, it will mix the gameplay of the era and HD visuals with “reworked controls, a revamped interface and remastered sounds and music.”
The label will also unveil new images of its hack’n’slash/shoot’em up Gungrave G.O.R.E, of the action-RPG The Last Oricru and especially of a new RPG not yet announced which takes place in a “post-apocalyptic future in the heart of a sprawling metropolis”.
