If like us, you don’t know what to do in your Tesla when it brings you home, rest assured: you’ll soon be able to play Steam’s catalog.
Playing PC games is good, everyone knows that. Today, you can even play PC games on consoles, smartphones, or the cloud. Soon you will be able to play PC games on a dedicated hybrid console, the Steam Deck. What’s the next step? The microwave? The bathroom mirror? But no, the car of course!
As cars will increasingly drive themselves, we will have to find solutions to avoid getting bored. Thereby, Elon Musk, the boss of Tesla and Stark Industries (oh no I’m confusing), announced that his system would soon want to support the Steam catalog.
Musk first responded to a tweet from the Cyberpunk 2077 account, simply stating “great game.” Then, when asked if he plans to release a new version of the game for his cars (the Tesla Model S and X already allow you to play it), he added:
We work on the general case of run steam games on a tesla against specific titles. The first case is obviously where we should think about the long term.

Steam games should therefore soon be accessible directly on the on-board computer of the brand’s autonomous vehicles, which already has an agreement with CD Projekt, since the titles as Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 are already compatible. Incidentally, Musk also confirms that Cyberpunk 2077 will necessarily be playable on the Cybertruckthe futuristic car in the final design phase.
For all our readers who already drive a Tesla, we don’t teach them anything: Tesla’s system has a 17-inch screen and the new Model S/X will have an AMD Navi 23 GPU with 10 teraflops of processing, enough not to hurt your eyes too much. Remember that for the moment the car games are played stationary but that Musk has made it clear that the development of in-flight entertainment will be crucial to not getting bored in the years to come. New games have also been ported for the Tesla Arcade on board vehicles recently.
