With this new studio, located near the group’s headquarters in Paris, Gameloft announces that it is working on an “ambitious free-to-play” multiplayer and crossplay planned for PC and console.

Former Mobile Division of Ubisoft, the French studio Gameloft, owned by Vivendi, announced on Tuesday the opening of an 18th office in Paris, made up of a team of young talents and industry veterans. This new Gameloft Paris reinforces the 17 studios worldwide and 3,600 employees currently.

This new French studio, near the company’s head office, will have 30 employees by the end of the year. A first game is announced, an “ambitious free-to-play” multiplayer and crossplay planned for PC and console, since the studio has recently started its exit from the mobile universe to focus on the traditional market.

Disney projects in spades

The new title will be action and sports oriented, an area that the studio knows well on mobiles with its licenses GT Racing or Asphalt. Reading between the lines, we can legitimately think that Paris will help Gameloft Barcelona on the Disney Speedstorm project, a Mario Kart-like on PC and consoles.

The group is recruiting for the development of its project. Recently, Gameloft announced Disney Dreamlight Valley, a free-to-play adventure in the Mickey universe.
