Very lucrative, Capcom’s Resident Evil license continues to sell. Even the unloved Resident Evil 3 Remake, which has just taken a new step and entered the ranking of the most important apps in the saga.
Released in April 2020, Resident Evil 3 Remake overdone the success of the second opus reworked by Capcom in 2019, but did not have the same reception, because of a whole bunch of little things – see our test.
Nevertheless, the app has managed to get its head out of the water and has even just crossed a new symbolic level by recording more than 5 million units sold. A nice score that allows this RE3 Remake to be among the best-selling Resident Evil titles in history if we are to believe Capcom’s financial report for the year 2021.
Top 5 Resident Evil bestsellers
- Resident Evil 7: 10.6 million
- Resident Evil 2 Remake: 9.3 million
- Resident Evil 5: 8.1 million
- Resident Evil 6: 8.1 million
- Resident Evil Village: 5.7 million
- Resident Evil 3: 5 millions [ajout de février 2022]
The saga still has a bright future ahead of it, and it’s not the upcoming arrival of Resident Evil 4 Remake that will make us say the opposite. Besides, Mr. Mikami himself has high expectations and hopes that Capcom will do things well.
