They are on everyone’s lips, mid-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft could arrive on the market very quickly according to TCL.

After multiple rumors, it seems that the PS5 Pro and the new Xbox Series X / S are confirmed if we believe one of the actors in the middle.

Sony and Microsoft’s ‘9.5’ gen are gearing up

This time, it is the PPE site which tells us that new consoles from Sony and Microsoft were mentioned during a TCL group conferenceelectronics and hardware specialist.

According to the journalist who was able to participate in the conference (and bring back some pictures in the wake) TCL, who must be well informed of the market, would estimate that the PS5 Pro and the new Xbox Series should be launched on the market by 2023/2024. The latter would carry new equipment on board and could display gameplay in 2160p (4K) at 60 or 120fps, and even 8K.

Moreover, the company claims that the consoles would be equipped with an AMD RX 7700 XT GPU (or equivalent), the manufacturer’s next generation hardware. Truly powerful machines then.

As a reminder, AMD had recently opened recruitment to strengthen its teams, the very ones who had already worked on the chips integrated into current consoles. It could therefore be that all this is not trivial.

However, we will still take the news with a grain of salt since, even if we are dealing here with professionals in the field, nothing can guarantee that the plans will go exactly as planned.

Whether it be Microsoft Where sony, the two gaming monsters are already struggling to properly sell their current consoles and shortages are still hitting the industry. If it is obvious that such consoles are in the pipeline, nothing tells us however that they will be able to come out anytime soon. So wait and see.
