City of Dreams Mediterranean will open on July 10, 2023
Based in Hong Kong, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment Group is one of the largest casino hotel operators in the world.
At present, it is mainly present in Macau where it operates the Studio City Macau complex for example. It also operates the City of Dreams Manila in the capital of the Philippines, among others.
During 2018, the group reported that it had obtained a 30-year license to offer the largest hotel-casino in Europe.
So for a long time now, Melco Resorts & Entertainment has been working on its City of Dreams Mediterranean project in the city of Limassol on the island of Cyprus.
We have just learned its official opening date set for next Monday, July 10.
An estimated budget of 550 million euros for the City of Dreams Mediterranean
Throned off the Mediterranean Sea, the island of Cyprus is geographically located in Western Asia. Nevertheless, it is rather close to South-East Europe on a cultural level. Moreover, it is even part of the European Union.
The Melco Resorts & Entertainment Group has been working on the development of a hotel-casino there for several years now, with a budget of no less than 550 million euros.
Only a few days ago, the operator’s managers finally set an official date for the opening of the City of Dreams Mediterranean. The latter is to be inaugurated on Friday, July 10 in Limassol.
The largest casino in Europe
Extremely ambitious, the City of Dreams Mediterranean will host a 16-story 5-star hotel with more than 500 rooms and suites of high standing. All of them will have a private balcony with a breathtaking view of the Akrotiri salt lake, the Troodos mountain range or the famous Lady’s Mile beach.
In addition, the complex will also host the largest casino in Europe. This will cover an area of 7,500 square meters and will offer 1,000 slot machines as well as a hundred tables dedicated to traditional games.
Finally, the complex will also offer a wide range of restaurants preparing fine cuisine and numerous entertainment options among others. These include a family adventure park and a Roman-style open-air amphitheater that can accommodate up to 300 people.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment Group’s positioning to expand internationally
With the upcoming opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment Group continues to further expand its positioning internationally. It has high expectations for the island’s appeal to gamers, vacationers and businesses.
On that note, the hotel-casino will also offer more than 86,000 square meters of dedicated meeting and convention space. There will also be a large ballroom that can accommodate over 1,000 people.
As a result, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment Group aims to establish the City of Dreams Mediterranean as an ideal destination for a wide range of events such as weddings and conferences, for example.
