MGM Resorts announces the acquisition of Push Gaming
Last year, the American group MGM Resorts International decided to expand its presence in the European online casino market.
That’s why it bought the Swedish operator LeoVegas for $605 million.
On Monday, May 1, it just announced that its new subsidiary will soon acquire Push Gaming software specializing in online slot machines.
All jobs retained at Push Gaming
For the moment, the financial terms of this operation have not yet been officially disclosed.
However, it is known that the sale should be finalized during the third quarter of 2023, the time to obtain the necessary approvals from the competent bodies.
Through this acquisition, MGM Resorts International Group will gain access to cutting-edge proprietary technologies, successful intellectual properties and extensive expertise in online game development.
It has already been announced that the management team will remain in place and all employees will be retained. At the moment, Push Gaming employs more than 135 people in 5 countries around the world.
Through a recently issued press release, the president of MGM Resorts International Interactive (Gary Fritz) welcomed the deal.
He said it was a perfect fit with the group’s current desire to expand as much as possible in the online gaming sector.
Push Gaming slots available at over 200 operators worldwide
Since the operator LeoVegas was acquired by the MGM Resorts International group. This is the first time it has made an acquisition. This will enable it to get its hands on Push Gaming: a slot machine software licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
Founded in 2010, it initially specialized in the land-based casino sector before changing its focus during 2015.
From then on, it successfully focused on online games. Currently, it offers its game library to more than 200 operators worldwide, such as 888 Casino, 32 Red, Betsson or Entain. It is already available in over 25 languages and over 25 crypto-currencies.
