The new opus of The Witcher saga has just started its pre-production, the serious things can finally begin for CD Projekt.
Announced recently, the next installment of The Witcher license (which will be called The Witcher 4 here by default), begins its development as confirmed by the studio.
The Witcher 4 is not for now
It was Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of Cd Projekt, who announced the good news during a speech on the subject. He tells us that the research phases are over and The Witcher 4 finally enters pre-production.
We have recently completed the research phase, which means the project has now moved into pre-production and so we have started to capitalize on the development spend on this new game.
However, no other information has been given on the software and we will have to wait a while before having something to eat. We just know that it will run on Unreal Engine 5, CD Projekt having even signed a partnership with Epic Games.
The game is not about to be released and it will therefore be necessary to fall back on the next new gen versions of The Witcher 3 to dive back into the universe.
