U2 unveils the dates of its Las Vegas residency
Since July 2022, there have been growing rumors that the Irish rock band U2 would hold a residency at the new MSG Sphere venue at The Venetian hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
The concert series was finally made official at the Super Bowl LVII finale on February 12, 2023.
Nevertheless, the exact number of shows and their dates were not yet known. All this has finally been unveiled, on Monday, April 24.
5 dates on 2 weekends for the U2 residence : UV Achtung Baby Live
It’s here: we finally know when the famous U2: UV Achtung Baby Live residency will be held at the new MSG Sphere venue at The Venetian hotel-casino.
Comprising 5 dates over 2 weekends, it will begin on Friday, September 29, 2023 and continue on the following Saturday, 30, before ending from Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8.
If initial ticket sales meet expectations, more dates may well be added.
Nevertheless, we can already expect that tickets are going like hotcakes. Indeed, U2 has not given a concert since December 2019. Unfortunately, the band will not be in full force. Founding drummer Larry Mullen Jr. will not be participating in this concert series.
He has to recover from an operation on his elbow and neck and will therefore be replaced by the almost unknown musician Bram van den Berg. It is besides the first time that all the historical members of the group will not be gathered on stage.

The atypical sound system of the MSG Sphere concert hall
Imagined by the teams of the Madison Square Garden Entertainment group, the future MSG Sphere concert hall will take the shape of a 112 m high sphere. Budgeted at 2.2 billion dollars, it will not offer speakers unlike the other arenas in Las Vegas.
Instead, the entire building has been designed to be a huge speaker, which will envelop the spectators in a completely immersive sound.
It was this atypical sound system that convinced U2 to choose the MSG Sphere to make its return to the stage. The band will be able to make “the worst seat in the house the best seat in the house,” in the words of lead singer Bono. No matter where you sit, you’ll be treated to a truly unique show.
Pre-sale on April 27 before a sale on April 28
Those who wish to attend the U2: UV Achtung Baby Live residency should go to the Ticketmaster website right away to register for the presale reserved for verified fans. This will allow you to receive an access code to take part in the presale which will take place on Thursday, April 27.
Tickets are priced from $140 all-in, which means that taxes and other fees are already taken into account. As the MSG Sphere venue offers no less than 17,500 seats. We know that 60% of the tickets will be priced at less than $300.
As for the general sale, if there are any seats left, it is scheduled to start on Friday, April 28 from 10am UTC.
