The Venetian Las Vegas sued after a brawl
In the main casino hotels of the Strip, there are a lot of visitors who come every year. As a result, there are sometimes incidents that take place.
In 2021, for example, a man was injured in an altercation inside the Venetian Las Vegas.
Not long ago, he filed a lawsuit against the gaming establishment and its security guards for alleged negligence and emotional distress.
50,000 in damages
The famous lawsuit that interests us through this news has been filed, only a few days ago. Aiming to receive more than 50,000 dollars in damages, it claims that the security guards of the Venetian Las Vegas did not sufficiently protect some of the customers of the gaming establishment, when a gunman shot another visitor.
The man was none other than Eric Aguilar. On January 18, 2021, he was shot, which forced him to undergo several surgeries on his leg.
Because of a simple comment on an American soccer jersey
This unfortunate incident began with a simple argument in the Palazzo casino which is located inside the Venetian Las Vegas. The future victim was there to celebrate her birthday. At one point, one of his friends made a simple comment about the San Francisco 49ers soccer jersey that another patron was wearing.
The customer immediately began to verbally attack the entire group accompanying Eric Aguilar. He even went so far as to point a gun at them and say he was going to kill each and every one of them, before walking away while still remaining in the arcade.
It was then that 3 security guards from the Venetian Las Vegas finally intervened. Nevertheless, they simply asked the future victim and his friends to leave the premises, even though they were alerted to the fact that the other customer had just pulled out a gun.
His statements were not taken seriously and the officers made no attempt to locate the gunman.
The latter eventually found Eric Aguilar and his friends, when they came out of the arcade. In self-defense, they threw beer bottles at him. The future victim tried to grab the gun.
As a result, she was wounded in the groin. When the police arrived at the scene, they initially thought the assailant was Eric Aguilar because he had managed to retrieve the gun.
A victim who could have been killed without the reaction of the security guards at the Venetian Las Vegas
According to Eric Aguilar’s lawyer, the security guards at the Venetian Las Veags did absolutely nothing to protect the establishment’s customers. They simply watched the scene via the video surveillance system. He is also pleased that his client was not killed by the police when they intervened. Nevertheless, it could very well have happened.
When asked about this case, the management of the Venetian Las Vegas did not wish to react to it. Indeed, it never comments on the litigations in progress.
