Cosmopolitan victim of craps cheating
A responsible attitude to gambling means that every time you enter a land-based casino, you shouldn’t necessarily be looking to win, but only to have a good time.
That’s not exactly the approach taken by dishonest gamblers, who don’t hesitate to use cheating techniques to maximize their winnings.
Between November and December 2021, a gang of 4 people allegedly cheated at craps in Las Vegas.
Although the case is a little old now, their trial is about to begin.
A system for sliding dice on craps tables
Investigators from the Nevada Gaming Control Board worked on this famous case. They took a close look at the actions of 4 people, namely: Hau Ngo, Antcharaporn Kamonlert, Oscar Rodriguez and Max Rappoport.
For several days between November and December 2021, they were suspected of using a dice-sliding system on craps tables.
This meant that, instead of spinning the dice so that chance alone decided the outcome of the games, they chose the result they wanted beforehand and rolled the dice in such a way that each one slid while staying on its position. While one player was busy doing this, the others would place bets and distract the dealer’s attention.

About $225,000 worth of cheating at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Our little gang may have used this cheating scheme at various hotel-casinos on the Las Vegas Strip during the period from November to December 2021, including Resorts World. However, it was mainly at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas that their scheme was discovered.
At the time of the incident, the quartet’s actions had already aroused the suspicions of the hotel-casino’s security guards, and analysis of the CCTV tapes was clear enough to allow the Nevada Gaming Control Board to be called in.
Thanks to this cheating technique, our 4 accomplices were able to amass some $225,000. The case will soon be heard by the Las Vegas Court of Justice.
About the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Opened on December 15, 2010, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hotel-casino sits on the west side of the Strip next to the Bellagio. Budgeted at $3.9 billion, it is one of the most luxurious complexes of its kind in the world.
It features no fewer than 3,027 rooms or suites, a 28,000 m² shopping mall with bars, restaurants and boutiques, a 3,700 m² spa and fitness center, a 200-seat auditorium and a 14,000 m² meeting and convention space.
In the 10,000 m² gaming hall itself, you’ll find sports betting, slot machines and table games.
