During its last financial statement, Electronic Arts also returned to the subject of NFTs, and for the company, this is not a priority.

If you had watched the internet at the end of last year, when everyone reacted to the NFT boom, you must have come across the declarations by Andrew Wilsonbig shot of EA.

At the time, the latter stated that “digital collectible content [sous forme de NFT] would play a significant role in the future”, enough to give cold sweats to a lot of players.

Only then, water has flowed under the bridge since then and the publisher has taken advantage of its financial results to take stock of the situation regarding NFTs, and surprise, it is no longer too topical although the idea is not completely abandoned.

The way I see it is that the collection [d’objets en relation avec les jeux] is really built around four key parameters. It’s about high-quality content, rarity, proof of authenticity, and a group of people who value that content.

We’ve seen this happen in the real and virtual world before with some things that have happened in and around our games for a number of years.

And I think that this spirit of collecting will continue to be an important part of our industry, the games and the experiences we provide to our players.

On the other hand, whether this is related to NFTs and blockchains remains to be seen.. And I think the way we look at it is that we want to give players the best possible experience. We will therefore evaluate this [Les NFT] over time, but for now, it’s not something we actively fight against.

Tempered remarks which exclude any probability of seeing NFTs arrive in the short termthe publisher preferring to see how the schmilblick will progress in the sector, but don’t completely close the door to the idea.
