After Benjamin Mendy last year, another professional soccer player has been removed from Konami and EA simulation games following accusations.

If in football clubs, there are certain clauses that prevent a player from being fired with the snap of a finger, in a simulation game, it is enough simply to click on a button to remove a player from the servers. Like Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy last year, Mason Greenwood was also entitled to a quick sanction from EA Sports and Konami.

The Manchester United midfielder is also affected by charges of sexual assault and rape by his former girlfriend. Arrested but released under supervision at the start of last week, the England international was suspended by ManU. In the aftermath, FIFA 22 announced its withdrawal from the game.

At the house of EurogamerKonami has announced a similar decision for eFootball 2022 and PES 2021 mobile game.

In light of the serious allegations made against Mason Greenwood, the player will be removed from our football games until further notice.

Specifically for PES 2021 on mobile, users cannot obtain the new player, but existing owners are unaffected.

Konami condemns violence of any kind. While police investigations are ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further.

As a reminder, Pierre Menes had also been withdrawn, but comments from FIFA this time, following accusations of harassment against him.
