After making headlines by announcing a new postponement for the new gen patch of The Witcher 3, CD Projekt returned to the subject by wanting to be reassuring.

Barely a few hours after announcing a new postponement for the PS5 versions and Xbox Series of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Michal Nowakowski, commercial vice-president of the studio returned to the subject.

All is well for The Witcher 3, the PS5 and Xbox Series versions are progressing well

During the recent financial review, Mr. Nowakowski spoke about the articles that appeared in the press following the postponement, being reassuring.

I looked at the headlines that popped up here and there on the internet, and I saw one that really caught my eye, and it said, “Next-gen Witcher 3 delayed indefinitely,” which makes it sound like game development is hell. I want to say that is not the case. There’s also been a lot of hints that we’re going to launch it, June next year or something. That’s not true either. All we say is we have taken over development of the game internally, and that it will be completed internally. We evaluate our time, it requires a bit of investigation. That’s all.
No one said the game would be delayed to a very distant date. That’s all I can say about the next-gen versions of The Witcher, but I really wanted to make this point.

This should reassure investors, who have certainly become a bit cautious after the incredible release of Cyberpunk 2077. But when we see the colossal sales figures for CD Projekt’s two flagship licenses, we say to ourselves that they should not be too stressed.
