The movie version of Gran Turismo finally has a release window and will be inspired by a true story for its script.
Directed by Neil Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) the film Gran Turismo should therefore reach our dark rooms by the month ofAugust 2023 and if he will talk about the car, he will talk above all about the game itself.
From virtual to real, there is only one wheel
Since instead of stupidly adapting the license to the cinema to create a drama against the background of a racing circuit, the film will focus instead on a true story, that ofa teenager who realized his dream of becoming a professional racing driver and winning a Grand Prix thanks to the Gran Turismo Academycreated by Polyphony Digital. The script will therefore be inspired by real events and will be written by Jason Hallto whom we owe in particular American Sniper.
Yes, in case you didn’t know, Polyphony did indeed create this “school” for the best Gran Turismo racers to become professional racers. One of these most memorable students is undoubtedly Jann Mardenborough who, after passing the GT Academy, participated in several iconic motorsport events such as the 24 hours of Le Mans, the Super GT in Japan or the GP3 Series. Or even French Romain Sarazin who, after winning the GT Academy, was also able to participate in several championships and become a pro driver.
