The cover of FIFA 23 is revealed or rather confirmed. At the same time, EA’s game makes an appointment for an upcoming revelation.

Not long ago, an unofficial information about FIFA 23, the latest soccer game of EA Sports to be titled like thiscame to us. It mentioned the presence of the Australian player of Chelsea FC Sam Kerr alongside Mbappé. And, it took only a few days to have the confirmation with the release of a visual.

A more inclusive FIFA

With her appearance, the footballer in question becomes the first woman to appear on a FIFA cover… well, only for the international version. Other female athletes were indeed already on the local boxes of some editions of the license, as we recalled in our previous article.

The outfit worn by Sam Kerr, the one of Chelsea, seems to give a small indication on the direction that would tend to take this last FIFA made in EA. Indeed, the small detail mentioned above would logically suppose the presence of the Chelsea women’s team in the game and would inform, therefore, about the existence (among others, we imagine) of the Women’s Super League (the English women’s soccer league). This would be a small evolution compared to the previous editions where the players were only presented through the national teams.

But well, no need to expand further. As EA says, we’ll know more tomorrow, this Wednesday, July 20thwith the little Youtube broadcast planned. In the meantime, we will be satisfied with the words that the producer had Matthew Lafreniere during a conference attended by Eurogamer. Here is what the magazine relayed:

This game promises to be the most inclusive FIFA ever, with all-new experiences designed to appeal to more players and soccer fans around the world. […] At FIFA, we are committed to building an equitable experience and aspire to contribute to the growth of women’s soccer.
