Daedelic Entertainment took to Twitter to announce the delay of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. But for how long?
This is bad news to say the least. After all, not much time has passed since the last appearance of the infiltration game at the Nacon Connect 2022. At that time, Gollum gave us some new gameplay images and above all, a release date scheduled for September 1st. Unfortunately, this date has been postponed.
My precious release date
So we’ll have to wait a little longer before we can embark on the escape from Mordor alongside Sméagol. For the moment, we don’t know exactly how long it will last. Indeed, the tweet from the studio Daedelic Entertainment explains that the software absolutely must undergo a delay of a few months. However, no specific release window was revealed in the wake. Is it set for November, December or even 2023? The answer should normally not be long in coming.
This postponement is not, in any case, due to internal problems. The developers just need more time to polish the game and thus honor the universe of Tolkien:
Over the past few years, the team has worked hard to deliver an extraordinary adventure in an incredible world of magic and wonder. We are eager to meet the expectations of our community and deliver the untold story of Gollum, which will honor the vision of J. R. R. Tolkien.
As the saying goes, patience is the mother of all virtues. The result will be all the better for it. Finally, don’t forget that Gollum will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series. Switch owners, rest assured, Nintendo’s console will also have the opportunity to host the title in its catalog, but it won’t be for a while.
