After long months, FromSoftware has managed to restore the servers, but not for all games unfortunately.
Remember earlier this year, shortly before the release of Elden Ring, FromSoftware had to shut down the online services of Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 because of a big security flaw. 7 months later, part of the problem is solved.
Dark Souls 3 returns without its brothers
The good news is that Dark Souls 3 players will now be able to enjoy the game online. The problems have finally been fixed and everything is back to normal.
The bad news is that Dark Souls: Remastered and Dark Souls 2 online services are still down and should remain so for a while. It seems that even after 7 long months, the security flaw is still causing a lot of sleepless nights for the developers.
We have completed the security investigation and countermeasures for the PC version of DARK SOULS III, so we have restored the game servers and resumed online services as of today. We apologize to all users and thank you for waiting for the restoration.
In addition, we are still working on the PC versions of DARK SOULS II and DARK SOULS REMASTERED, and we will inform you as soon as they are restored. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we appreciate your understanding and cooperation
FromSoftware can still rely on Elden Ring to bring in players. The game is a real hit and continues to sell by the pallet. It even recently became the biggest hit in the studio’s history, no less.
