Adele sets a record with her residency at Caesars Palace
On Saturday March 25, the 32-concert Weekends With Adele residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum venue came to an end. However, we already know that it will be extended by a further 34 dates between June 16 and November 4.
A short while ago, the prestigious New York Post provided some interesting information on Adele’s first wave of shows.
According to the paper, each performance brought in an average of $2.5 million in ticket sales. If this is the case, it’s an absolutely historic performance.
Revenues far exceed those of Lady Gaga’s Enigma and Jazz & Piano residency
So far, singer Lady Gaga holds the record for the most lucrative Las Vegas residency per concert. Indeed, her Enigma and Jazz & Piano series of shows is said to have earned an average of no less than $1.5 million per performance between 2018 and 2022.
Nevertheless, this figure would thus be widely beaten by Adele. According to the New York Post, each of the British star’s concerts at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace brought in an average of $2.5 million, of which $2 million went directly into the singer’s pocket. Finally, Uncle Sam takes a fair share of these revenues.
If this information is correct, this would be a significant increase on previous estimates, which put Adele’s earnings at $1.2 million per show.
According to the New York Post, 2 sources close to the singer have confirmed these figures.
Adele’s performance proves even more impressive, if we take into account that the $2.5 million per concert is supposed to be after expenses have been deducted. Lady Gaga’s $1.5 million is gross revenue per performance.
A long way to go to beat Céline Dion’s global revenues
Adele seems to have set a superb record with her series of concerts at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. However, if she’s aiming for the title of highest-earning singer or songstress via a Las Vegas residency, she’s still got quite a few millions to make up. She still has to earn no less than $576.3 million to dethrone Quebec diva Céline Dion.
Her 1,141 performances from 2003 to 2007 and subsequent concerts from 2011 to 2019 have earned her a total of no less than $681.3 million.
All tickets quickly sold out for Adele’s extended residency
Inaugurated on August 5, 1966, Caesars Palace is one of the most famous hotel-casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. Between June 16 and November 4, 2023, its Colosseum concert hall will once again welcome Adele for an extension of her Weekends with Adele residency by an additional 34 concerts. All tickets were quickly sold out.
At present, the cheapest are selling for around $600 on resale sites.
