Failed robbery at the Casino of Enghien-les-Bains
On Monday, May 1, a 25-year-old man was arrested by police at the Casino Barrière in Enghien-les-Bains and taken into custody.
He is suspected of having attempted to rob this gambling establishment located in the Paris region using a fake explosive belt.
He would have sought to make up for a large sum of money that he had previously lost. Unfortunately, it is not known what type of games he was playing.
A suspect so far unknown to the police
There was a big scare at the Casino Barrière in Enghien-les-Bains on the afternoon of Monday May 1.
For some time, the employees of the gaming complex were afraid that a terrorist attack was underway. Around 2pm, a 25-year-old man came into the lobby with a vest that appeared to contain explosives.
He approached the cash register and threatened the employee. He wanted to get all the money back or he would blow up his belt.
Of course, the security guards were quick to intervene. They talked to the young man and even managed to talk some sense into him. He finally gave them his vest, which in fact contained only fake explosives.
Immediately after the incident, the police were called to the scene. They proceeded to arrest the young man who was placed in custody.
It was later learned that he was previously unknown to law enforcement.
A panic-stricken player jumped from the second floor
At the moment, there is still little information that has leaked out about this unfortunate case. It seems that the young man was an unlucky player.
It is to cover his important losses that he would have set up this failed robbery.
During the events, there were about 200 people at the Casino Barrière in Enghien-les-Bains. Everyone was evacuated. A player got scared.
Believing it was a terrorist attack, he jumped from the second floor. Fortunately, he escaped the fall unharmed.
The cashier is still in shock. In fact, the gaming establishment has already set up a psychological cell.
