After the leaks on Thursday, E3 rushed to confirm the cancellation of its 2022 show, both physical and digital.

In both digital and physical, the international video game event is canceled in 2022. After the rumors and statements of several American players in the sector yesterday who claimed to have received a confirmation emailthe ESA has publicly confirmed the cancellation of E3 2022.

As in 2020, the major American video game fair will therefore not be held, a rare situation for one of the Big Four of the season (along with the PGW, TGS and Gamescom). If in 2021, due to the pandemic, the event had turned to a digital format, this time the ESA felt that the organization was going to be a big problem and prefers dedicate all his strength to a 2023 version in public.

We will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a physical and digital version of the E3 experience the following summer. Whether enjoyed on-site or on your favorite device, the 2023 event will bring community, media, and industry together again in an all-new format and interactive experience. We look forward to bringing E3 to fans around the world, live from Los Angeles in 2023.

In a statement sent to IGNthe organizer announces a 2023 “reinvigorated” edition. For now the Gamescom is scheduled for August 24-28 in physical and digital formatwhile the PGWwhich canceled its last two editions, will not return until the second half of 2022 in physics.
