Mainly present on the Asian and European continents, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment group is currently working on the development of its ambitious City of Dreams Mediterranean hotel-casino project.
Budgeted at €550 million, it is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2023.
In order to fill more than 1,000 positions in this gaming establishment under construction in the coastal city of Limassol on the island of Cyprus, it has just launched a brand new recruitment campaign. By the way, the recruitment of staff is not new and dates back several months. Indeed, we wrote a paper on February 22 about the recruitment of staff (see article below).
A wide range of positions at an employer that is going to become one of the country’s leading
On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Melco Resorts & Entertainment Group held an open house near its future City of Dreams Mediterranean hotel-casino with the goal of beginning a new recruitment campaign.
In total, there are more than 1,000 jobs available with a wide variety of positions including dealers, slot attendants and cashiers of course but also waiters, bartenders, cooks and restaurant managers among others.
It’s worth noting that when its gaming facility finally opens in the second quarter of next year, Melco Resorts & Entertainment will become one of the country’s largest employers. With investment in human capital being one of the most important aspects of the group, it’s easy to see why this new recruitment drive is so important.
Moreover, it is not the first. On Friday, February 25, for example, it had already organized a job fair at the Melco Cyprus Career Centre located in the city of Limassol.
Some details about the City of Dreams Mediterranean project
Originally, the City of Dreams Mediterranean was supposed to be inaugurated during the 2022 summer season, in Limassol which is the second most important city of Cyprus. However, it will not be inaugurated until the second quarter of 2023.
Extremely ambitious, this complex is to be the largest of its kind in all of Europe. It will house a 16-story, five-star hotel with more than 500 luxury rooms and suites, 10,000 square meters of meeting and convention space, an open-air amphitheater, a family adventure park, restaurants and stores.
Its gaming hall itself is to cover an area of 7,500 square meters and offer 1,000 slot machines and about 100 tables dedicated to traditional games.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment also present in Macau and the Philippines
Founded in 2004 in Hong Kong, Melco Resorts & Entertainment has a license in Macau where it operates the Altira Macau and the Studio City Macau. It is also present in the Philippines with the City of Dreams Manila located in the capital.
Of the more than 20,000 people employed by the group, 700 are already working on the island of Cyprus. Most of them are citizens of this island in the Mediterranean Sea.
