Photos and videos allowed in MGM casinos in Nevada
MGM Resorts International has just introduced new policies at its casinos in the US state of Nevada.
This will allow their customers to take photos or videos of their gaming sessions.
It has to be said that this development is particularly well suited to the practices that have been put in place since the democratization of smartphones and social networks.
Rules to follow inside a land-based casino
As soon as you enter a land-based casino, there are a number of rules to follow. For example, it’s generally forbidden to have a firearm or bladed weapon in your possession.
Some American establishments allow their customers to take photos or videos of their gaming sessions. However, not all do.
Since the use of smartphones and social networks has become widespread among the general public, many people have got into the habit of taking photos or filming many of their activities.
That’s why more and more gaming complexes that were resistant to these practices are now allowing photos and videos to be taken.
In Nevada’s 9 MGM Resorts International casinos
MGM Resorts International, which operates land-based casinos in several countries around the world, has just decided to change its rules concerning photos and videos in its gaming establishments in Nevada.
MGM operates no fewer than 9 resorts in Nevada, including the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay and New York-New York on the Las Vegas Strip.
In a recent press release published just a few days ago, we learned of the introduction of new policies in its casinos. These now allow customers to capture photos or video of their gaming sessions at traditional tables.
What’s more, this content can be shared on social networks on a delayed or even live basis.
The main features of these new policies
The MGM Resorts International group was quick to detail its new policies. It has made it clear that before publishing photos or videos, it is still advisable to inform staff members present in the vicinity.
If everyone agrees, it’s even possible to immortalize the contents of one’s hand at blackjack or poker, for example. Of course, capturing your gaming sessions should not delay the game in progress.
On the other hand, taking photos or videos of other players remains forbidden to protect their privacy. Similarly, MGM Resorts International has announced that it still does not allow players to talk on the phone for long periods, or to play music, for example.
