Roadwork begins in Las Vegas for F1
Between Thursday, November 16 and Saturday, November 18, the Heineken Silver Formula One Grand Prix of Las Vegas will take place around the famous Strip.
As a result, the race will take place on the road, like in Monaco for example. This is precisely the reason why a long and tedious work of transformation of some sections is necessary.
We have just learned that this one has begun, a short time ago.
The planning of the works for the Grand Prix Heineken Silver of Formula 1
On Sunday, April 2, work began on the transformation of certain parts of the roadway in Las Vegas in preparation for the future Heineken Silver Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The extensive work began with a section of Sands Avenue between the Strip and the upcoming MGS Sphere entertainment venue at The Venetian hotel-casino. This section is expected to be ready on Friday, April 7.
Crews will then tackle the Strip itself with paving completed between Sunday, April 9 and Friday, May 19. Harmon Avenue will then be worked on between Monday, May 22 and Friday, May 26, followed by Koval Lane from Sunday, June 11 to Friday, June 16.
The paddock site will be paved between Monday, June 19 and Friday, June 30. Finally, similar work will be done on the area surrounding the MSG Sphere from Monday, August 21 to Friday, August 25.
Of course, it is to be expected that the affected portions of the roadway will be closed to traffic during the work. There will also be a final phase of paving of the track. This will take place :
between Sunday, July 16 and Friday, July 21 on Sands Avenue and part of the Strip,
between Sunday July 23 and Friday July 28 on the other part of the Strip,
between Sunday July 30th and Friday August 4th on the paddock site,
between Sunday 13 and Friday 18 August on Koval Lane,
between Sunday 10 and Friday 15 September around the MSG Sphere.

Work budgeted at more than 74 million dollars
The Formula One Group has signed a contract with Las Vegas Paving Corp to carry out the work, which is budgeted at more than $74 million. A certain part of this bill will be paid via public money. The amount is not yet known as it is currently under debate.
It should be remembered that Clark County, where the Strip is located, signed a 10-year contract with the Heineken Silver Formula One Grand Prix of Las Vegas last February.
The Clark County Commissioner (Tick Segerblom) has recently indicated that the amount of money spent on the work will be far outweighed by the tourism benefits of the event.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) estimates that the race will bring more than $1 billion into the local economy.
