After having achieved success on mobiles by publishing the game Fate / Grand Order, the Sony Music Japan subsidiary has taken over the developer and announced the creation of a dedicated studio.

New acquisition in the world of video games for Sony, via its subsidiary … Sony Music. The mobile game developer Delightworks, at the origin of the Japanese tactical-RPG Fate / Grand Order, was acquired by Aniplex, which was already publisher of the game.

If the name doesn’t ring a bell, Aniplex is a production company specializing in anime and music founded under the name of Sony Pictures Entertainment Music Publishing and subsidiary of Sony Music Japan. We owe him the production and distribution of many series and corporate actions such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, Naruto or GTO.

Aniplex had embarked on the publishing of mobile games in recent years with great success, thanks to the game Fate / Grand Order, allowing it to explode its profits. With this redemption, Delightworks will be incorporated into the group to form a new branch visibly dedicated to video game adaptation of licenses produced by Sony Music Japan, including Fate / stay night in particular. Completion of the acquisition is scheduled for next spring.
