Activision trademarks Drum Hero

Submitted by Joe Lee on November 9, 2009 – 2:19 pmNo Comment

Activision trademarks Drum HeroActivision might already have Guitar, Band and DJ Hero in its musical ranks but its musical acts of heroism may not end there after the publisher filed a trademark for Drum Hero.

The trademark covers any sort of handheld, toy or electronic games. It doesn’t necessarily mean a sole Drum Hero game is on the horizon. Activision could just be protecting the “Hero” franchise.

That said, the publisher earlier revealed that the majority of next years games will be based on its successful franchise of 2009, so anything is possible.

Word from the Rock Band camp is that Rock Band 3 will teach users how to play for real. So whatever Hero Activision launch could have more than a fight on its hands.
