EA Sport F1 22 invites us to take a seat in the cockpit of a Formula 1 car and set off on the race track.

Who has never wanted to drive a Formula 1 and compete with the big names in current motor racing such as Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen or even Sebastian Vettel? Today this is almost possible thanks to Electronic Arts and the studio Codemastersspecializing in racing games, which reveals to us a gameplay video captured in VR for their game F1 22.

F1 22 more immersive than ever on PCVR

On the occasion of Canadian Grand Prix 2022this video immerses us in the skin of the Belgian-Canadian driver Lance Stroll competing in his magnificent Aston Martin AMR 22. We can feel the sensations of the pilot who travels the 4.361 km from Montreal’s famous Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

The pilot is you

This trailer is only a short preview of the revolution and the many possibilities that VR can bring for this kind of game. Only dedicated to pc gamers, VR brings considerable immersion and a real sense of tension.

“VR is revolutionizing F1 22 on PC and taking the race weekend to a whole new level. From the claustrophobia felt while sitting in the cockpit to the intensity caused by the lights going out as 20 cars accelerate towards the first corner. You will never feel so close to an F1 race off the track.”
Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters

Moreover, VR will not only be reserved for F1 cars, we will also be able to be at the controls of F2 and supercars. The contribution of this brand new vision will also allow us to marvel at the environment around us and watch the preparations for our race as if we were there. An enormous attention to detail, whether for physics, handling or for plausibility, was done by the development teams.
