The Perfect Dark reboot project is experiencing a new start: that of Dan Neuburger, the game director who left the Microsoft studio.

During the weekend, Dan Neuburger’s LinkedIn page has been updated. The latter, game director at The Initiative since 2018, obviously no longer works within the company since last month. The man says he is looking for a new challenge now.

Former game director at Crystal Dynamics, he notably supervised Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider, after having participated in the design of several episodes of the series. On the side of the studio belonging to Microsoft, only one project is announced: the reboot of Perfect Dark. It therefore appears that the game, announced since 2020, has just lost its director.

Another setback for the title after the departure of artistic director Drew Murray exactly a year ago. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Studios had announced the arrival of Crystal Dynamics on the project in support (with the possibility of directing it in the form of GaaS à la Avengers), a help “which was not too much” in the current health context.
