Mario Strikers: Battle League will indeed be the third installment in the official football series, with Next Level Games confirmed to be producing this installment for the Switch.
Announced during the Nintendo Direct, the new Mario Strikers: Battle League Football will be the Nintendo mascot’s new foray into the world of sport, and more specifically into football. During the presentation, an unknown remained: who will be in charge of the project?
According to the Australian classification body, Next Level Games has been chosen to develop this new episodewhich therefore means a return to basics for the studio, since the latter was discovered in the early 2000s with Mario Smash Football then Mario Strikers Charged Football on Wii.
It is therefore a direct sequel and very official third opus for this series of “Mario does football”. And it stays in the family since Nintendo bought the developer in January 2021 to have him directly in his production teams and ensure a more thorough follow-up.
