Embracer Group donates $1 million to help Ukraine

Support in the gaming world continues. After CDPR, Techland or even Wargaming, it’s the turn of one of the industry giants to make a substantial donation for humanitarian aid.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has affected many sectorsand in particular the world of video games, which has not hesitated for a few days to show its support with the Ukrainian people. Industry giant Embracer Group, owner of brands like THQ Nordic and Gearbox, has announced a million dollar donation for humanitarian organizations that help the country.

A decision announced this Tuesday morning, a few hours later another $1 million donation from another giant, Belarusian (now Cypriot) Wargaming.netbut also support actions from the esports community, or even Polish studios very affected by the situation of the “neighboring people”.

Embracer’s donation was announced by the group’s boss, Lars Wingefors, who will also add a million from his pocket “for employees and collaborators who are directly affected by the crisis”. The other million will therefore be donated to the Red Cross, SOS Children’s Village or the ACT alliance.
