Valve presented the details of its game store for the new Steam Deck console, while reassuring on the deliveries expected in a few weeks.

After pushing back shipments of its Steam Deck “console” for 2022, fans feared another postponement from Valve. But good news, the company will be able to keep its promises and formalize deliveries from February 2022.

First of all, Steam Decks deliveries will start well on schedule. Despite the global pandemic and supply and routing issues, it looks like we will be able to start shipping from the end of February.

The laptop, the first machine in this hybrid format, will finally be discovered by users who pre-ordered the basic model, the one who will be concerned by these deliveries. Sold at a price of €419, it obviously includes the Steam library, as well as a storage of 64 GB eMMC.

The second version, at €549, will include 256 GB NVMe storage and the third model, 512 GB for €679, in addition to small services offered (such as anti-reflective glass). All models also have the support to put the machine (like the Switch) and connect it to a screen. These two higher versions will be available from 2nd quarter 2022.

Launch of the “Steam Deck Verified” program

The publisher also announces the beginning of the creation of its list of compatible games, with the “Steam Deck Verified” program. The games in question will soon have the small green label affixed, a sign of total optimization with the new console. To find out if a game is compatible, simply go to the Steam store from your console and locate the color logos. Some games are already known like Portal 2, Ghostrunner, Hades or Death Stranding.
