For several days, various sources have claimed that a Playstation event should take place in March 2022. New information confirms this again, but also speaks of a postponement.

It’s been a few weeks now that Sony has been the target of numerous leaks about a potential State of Play set for this month of March, as well as several announcements that should be unveiled there. As a reminder, we heard about a postponement of Forspoken, a return of Infamous and Sly Cooper, and we heard about Project Spartacus (Sony’s Game Pass) which has been teasing itself lately. .

A State of Play scheduled for this week, but ultimately postponed until later in March?

Today, it’s our colleagues from gamereactor who add fuel to the fire and affirm thata State of Play was indeed planned for the beginning of March 2022but that many studios due to participate have requested that the event be postponed because of the war in Ukraine.

However, still according to gamereactor, the postponement would only be a few weeks and the show should therefore see the light of day in March.

Four of my usually very reliable sources at Sony and one outside the company told me last month thata new State of Play or Showcase was planned for this week. One of the reasons I haven’t shared this information with you before is that some developers who have to present their games there, and even some members of PlayStation Studios, have asked that the show be delayed because they don’t want to distract from the current horrible situation [en Ukraine]. This would have led to discussions about postponement for a week or two

We can therefore hope to have news from Sony fairly quickly, unless the situation is still changing. In any case, the Japanese giant has still not formalized anything on its side and must certainly analyze the situation before launching. Case to follow.
