Phil Spencer, the current head of Xbox, has revealed the name of the game he was most looking forward to this year, and it’s a PlayStation exclusive.
The CEO revealed his biggest expectation through a somewhat special tweet posted by the official Xbox account. The latter invited players to name their very first game, then the last and so on before moving on to the fateful question: which one are they most looking forward to doing this year? Phil Spencer gave his answer, it’s God of War Ragnarök.
First game: Pong
Last game: Road 96
Favorite game: Robotron: 2084
Game you play the most: right now….FH5 Hot Wheels
Game you want to play next: God of War Ragnarok
First game you’d show a caveman: Lumines: perfect mix of mechanics, music, style and replayability– Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) July 26, 2022
Xbox wants to wield the leviathan axe
A choice that does not really surprise considering that Ragnarök is one of the most anticipated games of 2022. After all, this was also the case in 2021, but the wait had to be extended to ensure an even better result. Also, this is not the first time that the boss of Xbox Game Studios expresses his desire to continue the adventures of Kratos and Atreus.
Indeed, during the wave of harassment that Santa Monica Studios underwent at the approach of the announcement of the release date, Phil Spencer did not hesitate to communicate his support for Cory Barlog and his team. He had then stated that he was very much looking forward to making this sequel, while thanking the developers for their hard work.
Anyway, his desire to make the game will finally be able to be satisfied on November 9 on PS4 and PS5.
